How can I make payment?
The following link will provide full details and allow you to make an immediate payment.
I cannot pay this debt in full. What should I do?
Please contact us immediately to discuss your financial position. Our aim is to agree with you a reasonable and affordable repayment plan.
What happens if I ignore 1st Credit Ltd and/or refuse to pay this debt?
We will continue to try to collect the debt that may involve taking court action. This is something we would prefer not to do. We would rather reach a reasonable, mutually acceptable and affordable repayment plan and therefore urge you to contact us.
I have never borrowed money or obtained credit or a loan from 1st Credit. Why are you contacting me?
1st Credit buys debts from highly reputable and well-known suppliers of credit, such as high street banks and credit card suppliers. If this is the case, your debt is now owed to 1st Credit, not your original creditor. Alternatively, we collect debts on behalf of many other companies and are acting for them. In both cases, please call us promptly to discuss the matter.
I do not think I am the debtor who owes this money. What should I do?
In rare circumstances it is possible that we have been given incorrect information. Please contact us immediately and we will provide you with further details from our system. If it transpires you are not the debtor, we will be happy to give you the appropriate advice to help resolve the situation.
The letter is addressed to the previous occupier. What should I do?
Please let us know this person’s new address and we will update our records to ensure you do not receive further mail. Unfortunately, we are obliged by law to send certain documents to a debtor’s last known address, even if we know that they no longer live there.
How do debts affect my credit rating?
1st Credit Ltd and/or our clients provide information to the relevant credit bureaux. Payments are reported and may improve your ability to obtain credit. Failure to make payments may mean you are unable to get credit or will be unable to obtain credit at favourable interest rates in future.
What happens if I lose my job or suffer long-term health issues or bereavement and find it difficult to pay back the debt?
In November 2008 we created a dedicated Debt Support Team trained to deal with sensitive cases where individuals have experienced life-changing events, such as serious health issues, loss of employment or bereavement. We offer account holders a number of payment options and a secure online payment system, as well as an easy-to-use budget planner to help them structure their repayments.
